Abilene Community Theatre

Get in the ACT: Abilene Community Theatre is a 100% volunteer driven, not-for-profit organization. Established in 1954, ACT has performed or hosted over 400 theatrical productions. Our theater, located on Barrow Street, has been our home since 1958. 2015-2016 is looking to be our busiest season ever! In addition to our many excellent productions, we are looking to restore the Round Building, and ACT's Center for Theatre Education (CTE) will begin children's theater classes in September 2015. We are always open to new members- actors, directors, play writes, and volunteers of all skills and skill levels. Please join us as we strive to grow the Abilene Community Theatre!

Actors Tony Redman and Rodger Brown rehearse a scene during a Dearly Departed rehearsal. We are two weeks from opening! Tickets go on sale Monday for Season Ticket holders and to the general public May 27th.

Going off-book (no scripts in hand) is an exciting part of the rehearsal process, but those first couple of rehearsals are a little nerve-wracking to the actor. Dearly Departed opens in two weeks.

Abilene Gives has come and gone once again, and now that we've had time to rest we just want to say THANK YOU! Your generosity was definitely on display this year; not only did your online and offline gifts help us surpass our $5,000 goal and allow us to begin work updating our tired, old marquee, but the Abilene community came together to raise more than $729,000 for area non-profit organizations, shattering the initial $600k goal set by the Community Foundation of Abilene. That's incredible, Abilene! Thank you to @communityfoundationabilene for organizing this amazing event every year, and thank YOU Abilene, for your support of ACT! You're the reason we do it, and your support allows us to continue.
We've got so much more planned as we head into our 65th season, and we'll be announcing all of it soon, so stay tuned! Thank you again, Abilene! Here's to another 65 years and more!
