ACT is pleased to announce Open Auditions for our production of William Shakespeare's OTHELLO, directed by Ginger Vinson!

Based on Cinthio's "Un Capitano Moro" ("A Moorish Captain"), and with varied and enduring themes of racism, love, jealousy, betrayal, revenge and repentance, OTHELLO revolves around Othello, a Moorish general in the Venetian army, and the faithful ensign, Iago, who manipulates his general into believing that Otehllo's wife, Desdemona has been unfaithful with Cassio.

The cast consists of 13 to 15 characters:
• 10-12 men, ages 18 to 70
• 3 women, ages 18 to 55

Auditions are for all parts, and no previous acting experience is necessary. Those auditioning should bring a memorized 30 second (minimum) dramatic or comedic monologue (even just a joke), showcasing their acting range. No accents, please!

Performance dates are December 7, 8, 14 & 15 at 7:30 and December 9 & 16 at 2:30. There will also be a student matinee performance on Wednesday, December 12 in the afternoon. The date of the first read through and rehearsal schedule will be determined after auditions.

Ginger is also looking for three crew members, who should come to auditions to talk to her.

Later Event: October 7
